SERDANG, 15 May 2026 – The Research Management Centre (RMC), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), continues its commitment to strengthening the research ecosystem through the organisation of the Meet the Researcher Day Programme Series 1/2026, organised by the Research Project Coordination and Monitoring Section.

This outreach-based programme is a continuation of the previous implementation under Series 1/2025, aimed at enhancing direct engagement between research management and researchers.

The initiative seeks to gain a closer understanding of the issues, challenges, and concerns faced by researchers, while identifying more effective, practical, and focused solutions. This approach is also seen as a way to improve the effectiveness of RMC’s service delivery to the research community.

For this series, the programme was conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies) Faculty of Design and Architecture, which served as the programme host. This collaboration played an important role in ensuring that the engagement sessions ran smoothly and achieved their intended objectives.

Various matters related to research management, grants, project monitoring, and administrative affairs were discussed openly in an interactive, constructive, and professional environment.

The researchers who attended generally expressed positive feedback regarding the programme’s implementation. They described the initiative as a highly beneficial platform for clarifying processes and enhancing understanding of research management procedures.

In fact, there were suggestions for similar programmes to be conducted more frequently and expanded on a broader scale to further strengthen the two-way relationship between management and researchers.

Overall, the implementation of the Meet the Researcher Day Programme reflects RMC’s ongoing commitment to empowering a responsive, inclusive, and high-impact research culture in line with the university’s aspirations.
