Led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Rosfarizan Mohamad FASc, the Bioprocessing & Biomanufacturing Research Group at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is advancing sustainable and greener processing methods for manufacturing bio-based products — spanning fermentation, downstream processing, and the generation of high-value products from agricultural waste.

The group is equipped with facilities under BioNexus Partnership Status (Bioeconomy Development Corporation), including a Fermentation Technology Unit, Pilot-scale Bioreactor System, and Downstream Processing Equipment — offering expertise in Fermentation Technology, Synthetic Biology, Green Biomanufacturing, and Waste-to-Value Initiatives to industry and academic partners.

Notable projects include developing high-value products from sustainable agricultural waste, activated carbon membranes for biogas separation, and Nanophosphor-GQD applications to enhance agricultural yield for food security.
