I am pleased to inform you that the Work Programme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation funding programme, was launched by the European Commission today.

Horizon 2020 is the largest multinational programme dedicated to research & innovation and it is "open to the world". This means that researchers, universities, research organisations, companies and non-governmental organisations from across the globe can apply to participate in the activities of the Work Programme carried out mainly through calls  for proposals.

The calls of the Work Programme launched today represent a major investment of €30 billion. These offer an extraordinary occasion for the scientific community and innovators in third countries to tap on the opportunities offered  by Horizon 2020 working together with counterparts from the EU and countries associated to Horizon 2020 in areas  of mutual interest.

In addition to this general opening, in this Work Programme, international cooperation in research and innovation has been strengthened through the inclusion of a list of 30 flagship initiatives with specific countries in areas of mutual benefit worth over €1billion.

For your information and further dissemination, please check our Press Release and the attached Fact Sheet prepared for the launching of the new Work Programme, a presentation highlighting International Cooperation and the list of flagships.

If you are interested to apply, consult the Horizon 2020 participant portal: http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/  and help us raising awareness of the opportunities offered by Horizon 2020 within your communities and networks.

Warmest greetings from National Cheng Kung University and SATU Presidents' Forum International Secretariat!

We are more than happy to see the Joint Research Scheme programs are getting more and more attention from our member universities since 2012. The 2018 Joint Research Scheme is now calling for host, we believe that our member universities as renowned research institutions are capable in terms of research dynamic and finance to host and facilitate such a scheme.

The hosting institution is expected to secure their own funds for their research project, SATU International Secretariat does not provide research funding for host. If you have a topic and are looking for a chance to work with other member universities, please fill in the attached application form and email to satu@email.ncku.edu.tw before April 20 (Fri.), 2018.

SATU International Secretariat would make sure that the opportunities of Joint Research Scheme are properly announced to partner universities. When the application forms for Co-PI (Principal Investigator) are collected, the SATU International Secretariat would hand the forms over to PIs to choose appropriate Co-PIs. PIs might be invited to 2018 Presidents’ Forum to present their project achievements with accommodation support.

Please let us know with a simple email reply if host is really not a good choice this year, taking part as a Co-PI would also suffice, thank you for your participation.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VuMwEKZid9WgMkMJQT3wP7C98l3LNKvedkIotoZau00
