Regarding the above matter, Research Management Centre (RMC) has been developing a new system called Putra Research & Innovation Management System (PRIMS).
The development of this system is purposely for improving the process of collecting and monitoring research data for the necessity of university reports and The Annual Achievement Assessment (Academic Officer) e-LPPT
Therefore, RMC would like to inform that PRIMS has been operating effective on 16 October 2017 (Monday).

You may contribute your scientific work for publishing in UPM's newly referable hallmark journals either as a regular article, short communications, or a review article in our forthcoming issues.


Submissions should be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words and your manuscript should be no more than 6,000 words, including notes and abstract.  Submissions should conform to the Pertanika style, which is available at www.pertanika.upm.edu.my or by mail or email upon request.

It is being informed that Malaysia through MOSTI has received the invitation from NAM S & T Center to submit nominations for Joint NAM S & T Center - ICCBS Fellowship in Natural Products Chemistry, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals 2017-2018 jointly organized by NAM S & T Center and International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences ) of the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry as well as Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan.
Nominations of qualified and interested candidates should be submitted to MOSTI officers via email teoh@mosti.gov.my and nazratul@mosti.gov.my before or on November 10, 2017 (Friday) by submitting application forms (as in Attachments), as well as documents - Relevant supporting documentation for the purpose of authentication by MOSTI as Focal Point NAM S & T Center in Malaysia.

Financial aids for the publication of journals is an initiative to enable the publication of high-impact journal articles. Apart from increasing the number of published journal articles, this initiative is a means to encourage academic staff to produce high quality articles.

Therefore, RMC would like to invite to all academics to apply for the service as the encouragement to publish paper into high-impact journals.

Effective on 1st November 2017, Research Management Centre (RMC), has initiated the Professional Bodies Membership Fees to the UPM academics. The service is offered to encourage UPM academics to be the member of local and international organisations.

I am pleased to inform you that the Work Programme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation funding programme, was launched by the European Commission today.

Horizon 2020 is the largest multinational programme dedicated to research & innovation and it is "open to the world". This means that researchers, universities, research organisations, companies and non-governmental organisations from across the globe can apply to participate in the activities of the Work Programme carried out mainly through calls  for proposals.

The calls of the Work Programme launched today represent a major investment of €30 billion. These offer an extraordinary occasion for the scientific community and innovators in third countries to tap on the opportunities offered  by Horizon 2020 working together with counterparts from the EU and countries associated to Horizon 2020 in areas  of mutual interest.

In addition to this general opening, in this Work Programme, international cooperation in research and innovation has been strengthened through the inclusion of a list of 30 flagship initiatives with specific countries in areas of mutual benefit worth over €1billion.

Malaysia Laboratories for Academia-Business Collaboration (MyLAB) is established to expand the collaboration networking between Higher Education Institution (IPT) and industry sectors. This program is offered to focus on the development of local technology and innovation and also systematic knowledge and source transferring.

Therefore, , MyLAB is hoped to be able to promote the achievements of research through the innovative and advanced invention and be advance in niche areas that are very strategic in producing total solution showcase and ready to be marketed via the collaboration between IPT and the industries.

The funding of MyLAB covers nine (9) technology fields that have been identified, which are :

  3. Aerospace
  4. Automotive & Transport Technology
  5. Oil & Gas
  6. Renewable Energy
  7. Health Care
  8. Green Technology

ICT Virtual Organization of ASEAN Institutes and NICT




Call for Proposals 2018



To bring the benefit of ICT to every social and geographic corner, to solve the common problems such as environmental problems, food supply, natural disasters and digital divides in the ASEAN region, all members of ASEAN IVO have the responsibility to accelerate Research and Development in the field of ICT. We consider that collaboration between institutions and between countries is one of the most important tools for this purpose, and ASEAN IVO is to launch new joint projects in spring 2018 to promote such collaboration in the ICT field.


In this year’s Call, the topics mainly focus on application development to provide solutions for specific regional needs or environmental or social problems. Projects would ideally have a strong outlook to conduct a demonstration by the final year of the project. Proposals from all technical fields are welcome and they will be evaluated on the potential benefit of output.


ASEAN IVO -- Call for Proposals 2018 is now open to all members of ASEAN IVO to make new projects in the ICT field starting from April, 2018. Please fill in the Proposal Form and submit it to the ASEAN IVO Secretariat.
