UPM wins 3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals at the P & P Innovation Carnival

BANGI, Jan 18 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) bagged three gold, four silver and five bronze medals at UKM's 2018 Teaching & Learning Innovation Carnival (P&P 2018 K-NOVATION).

The projects that won the gold medals were Virtual Microbes, headed by Dr. Chia Suet Lim from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Science, Bio-HeartWare, led by Dr. Wan Norhamidah Wan Ibrahim from the Faculty of Science, and InGNeoSA - Gamification in Small Animal Oncology, headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gayathri Thevi Selvarajah from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Meanwhile,the silver medals were won by the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), the Mechanisms and Reflections on Online Collaborative Active Learning by Graduates (Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication), Fun Learning AR Mobile Application (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology), and Virtual Imperative Technology Learning Experience and Web 2.0 for the 21’st century for University Compulsory Courses (MPU)  (Faculty of Human Ecology) projects.

As for the bronze medals, they were secured by the Ghostly Sheep: A Case for Many (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Quizlet Makes You Alive? Learners in Action (Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication), Healthy Heart AR Board Game and Brain Anatomy AR Mobile Application (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology), and Problem Based Learning for Smart Student Society (Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences) projects.  

The 2018 P&P K-NOVATION was aimed at identifying P&P products and innovations that can be featured at the national level.

In addition, the 2018 P&P K-NOVATION carnival provided academic staff with the opportunity to share ideas and insights on key issues related to R & D and different perspectives especially in the context of responding to the 4.0 industry challenge.- UPM
