UPM organised GCBER to discuss current economic sustainability

SERDANG, 15 August – The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised the Global Conference on Business and Economics Research (GCBER 2017) to discuss the governance and sustainability of the global business economics.

The Vice Chancellor of UPM, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris said that GCBER 2017 was the best platform for academics, professionals and researchers to interact and share information and expertise with regard to accounting, finance, management, business and economics.

“This conference opens up opportunities for interactions among researchers of different expertise to discuss problems in businesses in line with the theme of governance and sustainability of global business economics be it at the national or international level,” she added.

The Dean of FEP, Prof. Dr. Annuar Md Nassir said that the conference acted as a catalyst for a research and publication of scholarly finding culture as a means of scholastic enhancement that is based on good quality and performance.

“This conference can help undergraduate students to gain input and suggestions from participants in related fields to further improve their research proposals and theses,” he said.

“GCBER also promotes post-graduate courses and PhD programmes at FEP and establishes a positive academic relationship for information sharing,” he added.

The conference also featured a Visiting Maybank Chair (Cardiff University), Prof. Dr. Yusuf Karbhari who presented his research on ‘Enhancing Corporate Citizenship: Governance and Sustainability in Emerging Economies.’ - UPM
