October 11, 2019 - Research Management Center (RMC) has organized the 2019 FRGS Proposal Improvement & Integration Workshop in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, UPM. The workshop was held in 10 tutorial rooms and 12 tutorial rooms at the Faculty of Engineering.
Attendees were divided into two slots. The first slot is on how to further develop the proposal and guidance for the participants. The workshop was delivered by an experienced speaker, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Adzir bin Mahdi and Prof. Dr. Luqman Chuah Abdullah. Meanwhile, the second slot was a proposal purging session where the panel involved was Prof. Dr. Wong Su Luan and RMC Deputy Director of Research Grant, Prof. Dr. Goh Yoh Meng.
The workshop was organized to assist applicants who were unable to obtain the previous Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) 1/2019 from the Ministry of Education Malaysia. In addition, the workshop also provided guidance to help develop and integrate the potential Trans-Disciplinary (Technology, Engineering, ICT and Economic) proposal to apply for TRGS grants or other appropriate government agency grants. The Office of the Deputy Dean of Research, the Faculty of Engineering is also conducting an analysis based on the comments from the panel of KPM assessors for unsuccessful applications to identify the weaknesses of the researchers. The results of the analysis will be shared with the researcher to give an accurate picture of the applicant's skill level.
This Proposal Improvement & Integration Workshop is expected to help researchers gain input and improvement in future grant proposals.
