DLC Series 5.0: The Chronicles of MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks) in UPM: The Visibility Project, Nodes of Networking & A New Benchmark

October 31, 2018 - DLC Series 5.0 titled 'The Chronicles of MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks) in UPM: The Visibility Project, Nodes of Networking & A New Benchmark' was jointly organized by the Faculty of Science and Research Management Centre (RMC), Universiti Putra Malaysia. The lecture was held at Mini Auditorium 2, TNCPI Office, from 2 pm to 5 pm and open to all researchers in and outside Universiti Putra Malaysia. The number of attendees was 96. Deputy Director of RMC, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Aduwati Sali was also present as the guest of honor.

DLC 5.0 is one of the results from the UPM Visibility Fund project and the memorandum of Memoradum of Understanding (MoU) between UPM and UCB which was signed on October 5, 2017. This open lecture involves 3 specialist speakers in the 'Materials' field which are Mr. Kyle Cordova, Dr. Felipe Gandara, and Prof. Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman. The objective of this lecture is to provide exposure to the latest research and development of MOFs, forging greater collaboration between UPM and UCB as well as members in BGSI, and to provide opportunities for collaboration between local universities in the field of MOFs research.

November 2, 2018 - A closed group discussion session for DLC series 5.0 was held at the Board Room, TNCPI Office at 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. This discussion is aimed at seeing opportunities for International Grants (mainly US and Italian grants) for UPM researchers to apply and collaborate, MOFs towards social science, social science research at UCB, and mobility between UCB and UPM.

Researchers present are from the field of science and technology, and social sciences mainly from economics and management because of the focus of the DLC is to enhance the research of UPM's social sciences research with international institutions. Speaker En. Kyle Cordova and Dr. Felipe Gandara has presented the research at their respective institutions. Each researcher of 24 people has shared their backgrounds and research currently being conducted.

It is hoped that the collaboration of international researchers from UPM in science and technology, and social science will increase.
