Short bio-active peptide for wound treatment (PeptHeal)

A new sequence of a tetrapeptide composed of four types amino acids (Glycine - Aspartic acid - Proline - Histidine)- GDPH has been designed and synthesized. It was conjugated to fatty acid (Palmitic acid) become a Palmitoyl-GDPH as a new molecule. It possesses potential biological activity and revealed benefits in providing a favourable environment for cell growth. Besides, it exhibits cell stimulatory and migratory properties.  It acts as a new biological active molecule generally for collagen booster specifically as a potential drug for wound treatment.

Every year, thousands of patients suffered from different kinds of skin damage commonly from burn from hot water and oil. According to World Health Organization (WHO), it stated that over 30,000 cases were occurred per year due to the challenge for regeneration of skin layer. In developing countries, the treatment of wounds such as skin ulcers and burning represent a major health burden and clinical challenges.   Delayed wound healing is a complex and interactive process therefore, therapeutic peptide become promising as a potential drug as it has advantages over proteins and antibodies including lower manufacturing cost and greater stability. The usage of peptide as an active biological compound and ingredient is absolutely necessary to develop new treatment methods to satisfy the needs of wound treatment. Peptide has been discovered and studied in regards to its potential to heal skin injuries in the present time where the therapeutic drugs used are overpriced, toxic and unsafe in the long run.

This therapeutic peptide (Palmitoyl-GDPH) has the same goal of curing illness and suffering with its own concepts and ways. It helps in promoting to heal a wound that caused by external force. Specifically, it becomes a potential drug for wound treatment and resulting in a reduction of total treatment costs and increase the speed of healing.
